Bioinformatics for Dummies

So I'm reading a book called Bioinformatics for Dummies by Dr. Jean-Michel Claverie and Dr. Cedric Notredame in an attempt to teach myself about a growing field of science. I, being a junior in high school, am having a challenging time with this as one could imagine. Bioinformatics is now a course at many colleges and is only in colleges. Considering this, I must admit I am still rather delighted with my choice of literature. While offering a healthy challenge of understanding what I am actually reading, I am also learning information that will be valuable to me in the future, due to my ambitions regarding bioinformatic research. This non-fiction work is aiding in the ways of understanding databases, learning how to search for protien sequences, dealing with research related issues actual bioinformatic researchers handle daily, and application through examples among other things. If anyone is interested in exapanding his/her horizons or knowledge of sciences, this work is a pristine source of basic overlay for understanding the subject.
